KANSAS CITY, MO (LOOTPRESS)– Ten children from West Virginia traveled to the National Junior Hereford Expo in Kansas City.
This expo is known as the ‘Super Bowl’ of cattle and agricultural activities for teenagers and young children with Hereford Cattle.
In all, 864 participants from 41 states attended the event. The success of WV came from Ricky Hawkins of Jan Lew, WV. Hawkins had a top 15 finish in showmanship. The expo selected Landon Hall of Bolt, WV as the outstanding junior member for his dedication for Hereford Cattle and agriculture throughout the country. Kora Hawkins from Jan Lew, WV placed 7th in a judging contest. Mason Glascock and JD Painter helped represent West Virginia as delegates. Their place helps to shape and plan future events in the country.
Several cattle from West Virginia were placed in the top five of their classes.
Other children listed in the expo are: Jeb Painter, Carson Lambert, Ricky Hawkins, Kenzie Hawkins, Tyler Miller and Isiah Ash.
