HUNTINGTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Huntington City Council Chairwoman Jennifer Wheeler has announced that the public will be allowed to return to City Council proceedings beginning with the June 14 meeting.
Council chambers will be limited to 26 individuals, which includes City Council members, staff, and members of the public, to accommodate social distancing. However, any member of the public who wishes to speak on an agenda item during the meeting will have an opportunity to do so.
A TV monitor that will stream the meeting live will be set up in the main hallway of City Hall to accommodate any overflow of attendees.
Those entering chambers will have their temperature checked, per the standing policy that has been in place for City Council members and staff since the COVID-19 pandemic began. Individuals who have been vaccinated are not required to wear a mask. Unvaccinated individuals are requested to wear a mask.
City Council meetings will continue to be streamed live on the City of Huntington’s Facebook page, on the City of Huntington website (www.cityofhuntington.com), and on channel 24 for Comcast Cable subscribers.
