Curtis “Sterling” Smith 64 of Bartow passed away Saturday November 18, 2023.
Sterling was born April 30, 1959 in Harrisonburg, VA to the late Gerald D. Smith and late Yvonne Raines Tincher.
He was a retired Tallyman at Interstate Hardwoods. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved metal detecting and loved caring for all the stray cats in his and other neighborhoods.
Other than his parents, Sterling was preceded in death by step-father, Henry Lawson; sister, Theresa Curry and infant sister Angela.
Surviving include his wife Jane Lambert Smith; son, Jeremy (Lisa) Smith of Bartow; grandchildren, Christian (Reva) Smith and Nacota Smith; great grandchild; Xavier Smith; step great grandchild, Coalton Lambert; sisters, Stella (Buck) Price of VA, Robbie Jo (Bill) Osborne of SC, Camilla Bruce of VA and Cynthia Nagle of OH; brothers, Henry (Vickie) Lawson, Jr of Durbin and Gerald (Crissy) Smith of MD.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 22, 2023 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Arbovale. Funeral service will follow visitation at 8:00 pm with Pastor Donnie Curry officiating.
