(LOOTPRESS) – Denny’s is taking “drip” to a whole new level. In honor of National Maple Syrup Day, the iconic diner chain has launched Sticky Kicks — the first sneakers ever made with real Denny’s syrup sealed inside the shoe.
The over-the-top footwear was created in collaboration with celebrity sneaker designer Mache, known for his bold custom designs. Denny’s says the syrup-filled high-tops celebrate the “golden drip” that makes their Grand Slam® breakfasts famous.
“Sticky Kicks are impractical, unnecessary, and completely over the top — which is exactly why we love them,” said Ellie Doty, Denny’s senior vice president and chief brand officer. “Syrup isn’t just something we serve. It’s part of who we are. So of course we had to turn it into fashion.”
A Sugary Statement Piece
Each pair of Sticky Kicks includes:
-
A clear sealed panel displaying authentic Denny’s syrup
-
Syrup-colored patent leather and yellow detailing
-
An embossed Denny’s logo on the heel
The result? A sneaker that looks part streetwear, part diner art — and unmistakably Denny’s.
Designer Mache called the project a perfect mix of playful branding and high-quality craftsmanship. “Though it had its sticky moments in research and development, creating this collector’s shoe is something we’re extremely proud of,” he said.
How to Get a Pair
The sneakers drop at 12 p.m. EST on December 17 exclusively at DinerDrip.com. Supplies are limited, and only a select number of fans will score the syrup-soaked shoes.
Denny’s Rewards members get early priority: they will receive a special access code allowing them to shop one hour before the general public. New fans can still join at dennys.com/rewards.
Sticky Kicks will be available in men’s sizes 8–13 and retail for $195.
Syrup as a Lifestyle
The release marks Denny’s latest attempt to merge diner culture with pop culture. Past stunts have included quirky menu promotions and nostalgia-driven merchandise drops — but this is the first time the company has moved syrup from the breakfast plate to the fashion runway.
Fans are encouraged to follow Denny’s on social media for updates and behind-the-scenes looks at the design process.
And for the record: Denny’s warns not to puncture the shoes or attempt to consume the syrup. It may be real, but it’s meant strictly for style.
