BLUEFIELD, WV (LOOTPRESS)– District 10 of the West Virginia Division of Highways is trying to decide the best option to repair Country Girl Road in Bluefield.
District Engineer and Manager of District 10, Joe Pack, says they will receive an outside expert opinion.
“These experts will investigate and give us the best options for how to proceed with Country Girl Road. We have tried everything that we could possibly do,” said Pack.
In February 2019, a landslide due to an underlying drain issue not related to the DOH closed a portion of Country Girl Road. The DOH tried to repair the damages, but the landslide was so massive that everything they tried wasn’t successful. `
According to Pack, the landslide and road construction experts will conduct a year of a survey over the area. The experts will then tell Pack and DOH the best course of action to take.
“Sometimes situations occur which are a little more complicated than what it seems…simple on paper just to go out there and start fixing the road and starting the repair. We took an approach, and it wasn’t sufficient for that area,” said Pack.
