ELKINS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Webster Springs man sustained minor injuries Thursday after deputies say his pickup left the roadway, crossed a median, and crashed into the Dairy Queen drive-thru on the Midland Road area of Randolph County.
According to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy L. Elbon was patrolling the area on November 14 when he saw a white Chevrolet Silverado drift off the right side of the road while traveling south through the Walmart intersection.

When the deputy attempted a traffic stop, the vehicle struck a guardrail, traveled up the guardrail briefly, then veered across five lanes of traffic into the opposite lanes.
Deputies say the truck jumped the median separating Dairy Queen and T-Mobile, continued on the path, and then jumped a second median before hitting a small drive-thru sign.
The vehicle then traveled alongside a wall in reverse, struck the drive-thru structure, and ultimately hit the drive-thru window, where it came to rest.
The driver suffered minor injuries, including a head laceration, officials said. No Dairy Queen employees were injured.
The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation. Elkins Police Department, Elkins Fire Department, and the Randolph County Emergency Squad assisted at the scene.
