BECKLEY, WV – (LOOTPRESS)- The race for the County Commission for Raleigh County has officially been called for Greg Duckworth. Retired WV State Trooper Duckworth, and lead man of Taylormade, defeated Ron Hedrick in the Republican Primary, and ran unopposed in the general election. Duckworth, who has never before sought public office, will take the oath of office in January 2021.
Lootpress spoke to Duckworth immediately following the closing of the polls, and Duckworth said, “I’m humbled that the voters of Raleigh County would put their faith in me to work for the betterment of southern West Virginia. Just like Coach Bob Huggins says, ‘We have to scramble for every ball,’ meaning, we must aggressively pursue every opportunity to improve our region. I’m looking forward to getting started.”
Duckworth will serve a 6-year term alongside Raleigh County’s two other commissioners; Linda K. Epling and Dave Tolliver.
