ELKINS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – An Elkins street will see closure for an unspecified period Friday due to work being done in the area.
An announcement from Elkins City Hall Friday morning indicates a planned shutdown of Third Street in order to accommodate line work being conducted throughout the day.
Specifically, Third Street between Davis and Railroad will be closed for gas line work, with no estimated time frame for completion having been provided at this time.
This update follows a Thursday evening announcement from the city entity indicating decreased or unavailable water utility in areas throughout parts of the city including South Henry Avenue and 15th Street, as well as parts of Winter Lane and 13th Street.
This development came about as a result of a leak from a four-inch water line, which would require the temporary cessation of water services in order to properly address.
There was also no estimated time-frame for completion provided in relation to this project, and an update has yet to be issued from the city regarding the matter since the issuance of the initial notice.
LOOTPRESS will continue to follow these developments as information becomes available.
