RONCEVERTE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – An emergency leak in the Ronceverte area stands to leave a number of residents without water service Thursday.
The City of Ronceverte made the announcement late Wednesday afternoon that customers across the river in the region will lose access to water service on Thursday due to an emergency leak which the city has been working to address throughout the day.
“We have been diligently turning off valves trying to locate the leak,” read the statement.
”Our water usage is up letting us know we have a problem but we haven’t found it. Now we are checking across the river.”
According to the release, the issue will impact customers in areas including River Road, Alta Vista, Mike Stuart, Coffman Hill, Morgan Hollow, and 219 South beginning 8:00 AM Thursday, December 8, 2022 until 8:00 AM Friday, December 9, 2022.
It is additionally noted that customers impacted by the leak will also be expected to adhere to a boil water advisory upon restoration of water service.
