ELKINS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The City of Elkins is excited to announce new employment opportunities within the city.
Accounting Clerk I: Under general supervision, the accounting clerk I will compute, classify, and record numerical data to keep financial records complete. Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. May also check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers
Parking Enforcement Officer – Police Department: Under general supervision, enforces City of Elkins, WV parking rules and regulations. Work involves interpreting City Codes/Ordinances; Notices of Citations and Municipal Court summonses, monitoring parking meters and issuing parking violation tickets; and performing related work as assigned.
Street Worker II: Under close supervision, the position will operate a variety of trucks and light construction equipment in the maintenance of City streets and related infrastructure. Work involves driving trucks and operating equipment, performing manual tasks, maintaining equipment and vehicles, and performing related work as assigned.
Wastewater CSO Inspector/Pretreatment Coordinator: Under minimal supervision, performs skilled technical and manual work in the daily operation and maintenance of the City’s Wastewater Combined Sewer Overflows (CSO’s) as directed by the issued Long Term Control Plan and National Pollution Discharge Elimination System Permit (NPDES Permit). Inspects and investigates industrial waste streams, pretreatment and treatment facilities. Investigates industrial and commercial firms to determine the nature of business, the wastewater generating processes, and the magnitude, type and strength of wastes produced.
