CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) — U.S. Senators Shelly Moore Capito (R-WV) and Joe Manchin (D-WV) announced an investment for businesses in Bluefield, WV.
The $1,095,000 investment is for the Center for Applied Research and Technology Inc. This project will help start new and advance older businesses. It will also help diversify product lines of an existing business, streamline manufacturing processes along with the creation of jobs within southern West Virginia.
“Our small businesses in West Virginia are truly the backbone of our economy…I’m thankful for the role that the Center for Applied Research and Technology is playing in Mercer County,” said Senator Capito. “I can’t wait to see the positive impact this project will create in our communities.”
Funding was available through the Economic Development Administration (EDA) and expects to create 48 jobs, keep 48 jobs and generate about $2.2 million in private investment.
“The EDA continues to be a strong partner to the Mountain State…I will continue to work with the EDA to advocate for funding to boost our economy in West Virginia and I look forward to seeing the economic growth from this project,” said Senator Manchin.
