She was born in Bowlin, West Virginia on December 25, 1930, to the late George and Virginia (Mills) Thorne.
She was a devoted wife, loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. Lou enjoyed being a part of the Medina VFW Auxiliary, listening to country music, and she was always happiest in the company of her beloved family. Through the years she worked as a cashier at the Cracker Barrel IGA supermarket while raising her children.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Carl Grubb in 1990; her daughter Jacqueline Beal; infant siblings Milton, Dorothy Lorrine, Clara May, and Lily Thorne; and her brothers and sisters Flora, Paul, Margie, Thelma Jean, and Thomas B. Thorne, III.
Lou is survived by her sons, Stuart Williams, Max (Jane Steinhouse) Grubb, Carl “Brad” Grubb, Jr.; and daughter, Jill Grubb; grandchildren, Mary Williams, Rebecca Williams, Heather Blackburn, Sophia Grubb, Jeffrey Roach, and Tyler Hapney; eight great-grandchildren; and her siblings Margaret Rice, Arthur “Leonard” Thorne, Frances Rice, and Johnny, Jimmy, and Raymond Thorne.
