FAIRMONT, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Fairmont State University’s hopes to keep students and families connected with their newest program, Letters from Home.
The university has developed a special template which can be utilized to craft messages to students away from home.
“Letters from Home keeps you and your student connected while your loved one is here at Fairmont State University,” reads the program announcement
“Letters will be sealed and delivered during the third week of classes, as this is when homesickness is the strongest.”
The template is accessible through the Fairmont State University website, and can be emailed to falconfamily@fairmontstate.edu with the student’s name in the subject line.
Fairmont State faculty members have already begun reassembling in anticipation for the upcoming academic year and, on Tuesday, gathered in the Falcon Center for the annual Opening Session and Welcome Breakfast.
“We have much work to do but I’d like us to take a moment to acknowledge and celebrate the fact that we’re here, together, taking another step as a community of colleagues toward a shared future,” said Fairmont State University Interim President, Dianna Phillips. “That’s worth celebrating because we’ve been through a lot these past few years – we’ve not only had to navigate COVID, but also changes in academic programming, staffing and leadership.”
