FAIRMONT, WV (LOOTPRESS) – As more students get ready to head back to school, most school systems are implementing guidelines to slow the spread of COVID-19.
Fairmont University has announced that starting on Monday, August 9; it will use the WV DHHR County Alert Map to determine specific rules to follow.
If Marion County is listed as green, yellow, or gold on the WV DHHR map, then the University will operate under standard COVID-19 protocols, which include unvaccinated individuals must wear masks indoors.
If Marion County is orange or red, then the University will require everyone to wear masks, even if vaccinated, including outdoor areas and events, all classes face to face, synchronously broadcast and recorded, and events of 25 or more may be postponed or canceled.
The University will notify everyone if Marion County goes to orange or red.
Fairmont is encouraging all students and employees to be vaccinated for COVID-19. There will be vaccination clinics held throughout the fall semester.
