FAYETTEVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Fayette County Commission convened on Wednesday for the Regular Session meeting of the commission at which members approved a letter of support for Camp Soar.
A day camp geared at Fayette County youth ages 9-12, Camp Soar is held at Fayette County Park from late-June to late-July, and offers participants opportunities to learn about themselves and the natural world around them.
Commission members approved a letter of support for the program on Wednesday, and also discussed potentially contributing financially to assist participants in covering the $75 fee required for participation.
A request was made during the meeting for information to be gathered pertaining to a tentative future proposal to enact said financial assistance.
Also approved during the meeting was a grant amendment for the Deepwater & Powellton Upgrade, which was approved nunc pro tunc – essentially providing retroactive approval for the amendment on which commission members had been made privy previously.
“Sometimes we have things happen that are time sensitive and this was one of them, a grant amendment for the PSC that Leslie Taylor has already briefed us on in a public meeting,” said Commissioner Taylor. “But we needed to approve it retroactively. This is trying to fix the water up Armstrong Creek”
