FAYETTEVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Fayetteville man faces felony charges following an incident on Wednesday in which a man was shot.
According to reports from Fayette County Sheriff Mike Fridley, deputies responded to an altercation and gunshot wound complaint just after 4:00pm on Wednesday, August 24, 2022.
The complaint brought deputies to Brooklyn Loop in the Cunard area of Fayetteville.
An investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department Detective Bureau determined that an altercation between three individuals had taken place, after which one was left with a gunshot wound to the neck.
James R. Rice Jr II, 39 of Fayetteville, faces felony charges of Malicious Assault and Wanton Endangerment as a result of the incident, and is now awaiting court proceedings.
