FAYETTEVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Fayette County Prosecuting Attorney Anthony Ciliberti, Jr. announces that on July 13, 2021, Michael S. Thorn, 30, of Fayetteville, pled guilty to the felony crimes of conspiracy, burglary, and entry of building other than a dwelling. He will be sentenced by Chief Judge Thomas H. Ewing on September 20, 2021, and he faces potential sentences of up to three to thirty years in prison.
During the months of May and June 2020, Thorn broke into a home in Oak Hill and a garage on Gatewood Road to steal the owners’ property, and on another occasion, conspired to transfer property stolen from the Fayette county Farmland Protection Board property on Rt. 16 in Fayetteville.
Thorn’s crimes were investigated by members of the West Virginia State Police, the Oak Hill Police Department, and the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department and were prosecuted by Fayette County Chief Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Jennifer D. Crane.
