CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – After three successful cleanup days, the Kanawha County Commission will hold its fourth and final Fall Countywide Cleanup for 2021 this Saturday, October 30.
The Saturday event, for the Cabin Creek area, will be staged behind the Cabin Creek GoMart.
Items accepted at the cleanup include accumulated solid waste, large appliances, air conditioners, ten tires with a WV ID, and televisions. Recyclables are also accepted and include computers, all metals, car batteries and electronics.
Items not accepted include gas/propane tanks, hazardous waste, paint, chemicals and motor oil.
During the cleanup at Elkview-Herbert Hoover on Saturday, October 16, 881 vehicles visited; 1,986 tires were collected; 154.02 tons of trash and debris were collected; and 1.73 tons of metal were collected.
For the first three cleanups (Sissonville, South Charleston and Elkview-Herbert Hoover), the totals reported are:
- 3,123 cars visiting the cleanups to bring items;
- 7,527 tires collected;
- 331.02 tons of trash and debris collected; and
- 48.15 tons of metal collected.
