Forest Ray Vaught, age 46, of Beckley, WV passed away peacefully on
Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, surrounded by family.
He was born on March 11, 1975 in Beckley, to the late Royal and Linda
Pauley Vaught.
Forest was an in-home caregiver for many years, and also worked at
Greystone and many other facilities. He was also a former manager for
Save-a-Lot and family dollar.
Forest was preceded in death by an infant son, Forest Vault Jr., and a lifelong friend, John Bolen.
Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife of 25
years, Helen Lilly Vaught; his children, Carlos Blevins of Beaver, Salenna
Vaught of Beaver, Russell Vaught of Hinton, and Tyler Vaught and his wife
Savannaha of Shady Spring; sisters, Tammie Baker and husband Russell of Coal
City, Melissa Wheeler and husband Jeff, and Linda Stowers and husband Roger of Odd; a brother Jerry Vaught of Odd;
six grandchildren, Sarah Perkins of Shady Spring, Aaron Perkins of Sophia, Zoey,
Max, and Sammie Blevins of Shady Spring; one great grandchild, Theodore Wyco of
Shady Spring; a special granddaughter “Raye Raye” Vaught, who was more like a
daughter, and spent lots of time and made many wonderful memories with her
pawpaw. He leaves behind a host of nieces, and nephews, and a very special
person in his life who helped raise him, Anita Bolen and husband Emmett Bolen
Jr. of Mount Hope, and special friend Tom Bennett. Kayla Farley was like a daughter to Forest; they were best friends,
and he loved working with her at Greystone. He also leaves behind three special
sisters-in-law.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace
Chapel in Beckley on Sunday ,May 9, 2021 at 4 PM with Rev. Phylander Moon
officiating. Burial will follow at Hot Coal Cemetery at Sophia, WV. Friends may
visit with the family from 3 PM until service time on Sunday at the funeral
home. Tyler Vaught, Russell Vaught, Roger Stowers Jr., Jason Friddle, Galen
Runyon,and Jason Lilly will serve as pallbearers.
Facial coverings and social distancing will be observed as mandated by the Governor of the State of WV.
