Fred Allen Thomas, 79, of Twelve Mile Road, Princeton, died peacefully, Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at Princeton Community Hospital. Born December 18, 1941, in Princeton, he was the son of the late Carl Thomas and Emma Stinson Thomas. Fred retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad with 23 years service in the Maintenance Department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trains. Fred was the oldest member of the Rogers Street Community Church where he was called the “Governor”. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Brian Thomas and six brothers, Frank, Jack, Billy, Ronnie, Bobbie and Bernard Dale Thomas. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 53 years, Barbara Ella Thornhill Thomas; Loving daughter, Jennifer Green and husband Timothy; Loving grandchildren, Sarah Thomas, Matthew Thomas, Andrew Thomas, Brianna Alley and Brooklyn Alley; Loving great-grandchild, Houston Lane Smith; loving brother, Wayne Thomas and wife, Darlene; Two loving sisters, Christine McManaway and husband Arnold, Mary Hill and husband Gene; Special loving niece, Regina Weeks; Several loving nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Pastors Gene Pennington and Steve Pendleton officiating. Those attending the service are requested to meet at the Memorial Funeral Directory and Cremation Center on the Athens Road no later than 12:30 P.M. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
