Gladys Webb, age 90, of Daniels, WV stepped into eternity on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at the Raleigh Center in Daniels, WV.
Gladys loved the Lord and found comfort in knowing that when this life was over, she would meet with the Lord and those that passed on before. She was faithful in prayer and reading the Message of the Hour and her Bible. She followed the Message of the Lord Jesus Christ through the ministry of Rev William Marrion Branham and attended services at Spoken Word Tabernacle in Beaver. She truly believed Hebrews 13:8.
After graduating from Woodrow Wilson High School, Gladys earned her B.S. in Education from Concord College. She spent her entire teaching career at Daniels Elementary School. She also taught Sunday School.
Many enjoyed Gladys’s cooking. She loved hosting Fish Fries with the fish she and her husband Bill caught while they wintered in Florida. Her pound cake was another favorite of friends and family.
Gladys loved walking around the farm where she was born and raised her family, enjoying her flowers. Feeding the wild birds, squirrels, deer and the fish in her pond is how she enjoyed the days in her later years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Webb, and by siblings Zillian Burnette, Charles Shrewsbury, Paris Shrewsbury, Lillian Grose, Joe Shrewsbury and her twin, Gledis Wood.
Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Pam Jones and her husband Linnie of Campbellsville, KY, and son, Tom Webb and his wife Shannon of West Grove, PA. Siblings Lillie Sumner of Beckley, Roy Shrewsbury and his wife Leota of Beaver. The grandchildren she cherished and knew her as Mamaw: Jeff Jones, Cyndi Leathers and husband Daniel, Ben Webb, and Abe Webb; great grandson, David Leathers.
Friends may pay their respects during Visitation on Sunday November 13, 2022 from 6 to 8 PM at Spoken Word Tabernacle, 100 Scott Ridge Rd., Beaver, WV 25813. Funeral services will be conducted at Spoken Word Tabernacle on Monday, November 14, 2022 at 11 AM with Pastor Ron Lilly and Ivan England officiating.
Gladys will be carried by pallbearers: David French, Doug Maynard, Ben Webb, Jeff Jones, Daniel Leathers, and David Leathers to rest by her husband’s side at Blue Ridge Memorial Cemetery. Graveside services will be held immediately following the funeral.
