(LOOTPRESS) – Global iron and steel production decreased from August to September by -7.9%.
Iron and steel production increased month over month in Europe by +5% and Japan by +2.5% but declined in the remaining counties and regions: North America, -3.9%, South America, -2.5%, India, -3.8%, South Korea, -10.2%, and China, -11.3%. Adjusted global iron and steel production (excluding China) decreased -4% from August to September.
Compared to the same nine months of 2020, year to date global production of iron and steel is up+8.5%. +23.3% in Europe, +21.1% in North America, +23.7% in South America, +26.8% in India, +12.5% in Japan, +3.9% in South Korea and +2.4% in China. Excluding China, adjusted year to date iron and steel production is +17.1 higher than the same nine months of 2020.
