HUNTINGTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Grand Patrician Resort and golf course celebrated its grand opening on Wednesday with a host of attendees including members of Marshall University Athletics.
The resort, located in Milton, WV, features a par-three golf course spanning 42 acres. The course is the second section of the resort to open following the opening of the Canterbury Walking and Exercise Trail in April.
In lieu of a ribbon-cutting ceremony, the Grand Patrician presented a ceremonial tee-off on hole 1 of the nine-hole course with West Virginia amateur golf champion Pat Carter.
Also in attendance for the event were Mike Browning from the office of Senator Joe Manchin, Bill Bissett from the office of Senator Shelley Moore Capito, Nicholas Gray from the office of Congresswoman Carol Miller, Delegate Daniel Linville, Cabell County Commissioner John Mandy Jr., and Mayor of Milton Tom Canterbury.
The Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce extended their thanks to Christian Spears, Marshall University Director of Athletics Charles Huff, Marshall Head Football Coach Sharrod Everett, Assistant AD/Football Chief of Staff Dan D’Antoni, Head Men’s Basketball Coach Brooke Burkhammer, Head Women’s Golf Coach Matt Grobe, Head Men’s Golf Coach and members of the Marshall golf team, and HeartMedia Huntington Sales Team for joining the celebration.
