MCDOWELL COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Ashland Company Store of McDowell County, WV will host a trunk-or-treat event on Saturday, October 23rd, 2021.
Festivities are set to begin at 4 pm, with games and activities setting the stage for the trunk-or-treat itself which will begin at 5 pm.
The Ashland locale, whose origins date back to the early 1900s, has gone through a number of changes over the decades, and now serves local residents, as well as those seeking to explore the historic Hatfield-McCoy Trails.
The one-stop-shop offers all the requisite amenities for an adventure on the trail, including groceries, drinks, snacks, riding supplies, Hatfield-McCoy trail permits, and even ATV rentals, with both two-seat and four-seat RZR 1000 XR model ATVs available for booking.
Guests who arrive with an appetite too substantial to be quelled by Halloween sweets can sample a variety of dishes from the Coal Camp Cafe, located within the Ashland Company Store. The hometown eatery offers many familiar selections, as well as locally themed dishes, including the pepperoni roll meal, pinto beans and cornbread, and the pimento grilled cheese sandwich meal, all of which are listed as West Virginia Specialties on the menu.
Those interested in setting up a candy distribution station of their own at the event can call 681-251-1118 to reserve a spot. Distributors are encouraged to decorate their cars, trucks, and ATVs for the occasion.
Activities, games, and trunk-or-treating will take place in the parking lot area of the venue, located at 5633 Cherokee Rd, Ashland, WV. No restrictions or guidelines have been listed for the event at this time. Further information can be found on the Ashland Company Store Facebook page at https://facebook.com/ashlandcompanystore/.
