BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Humane Society of Raleigh County has announced that spay & neuter vouchers will be offered to low-income pet owners in Raleigh County beginning this weekend.
The Humane Society reports that a WVSNP grant of $25,000 has been awarded for the program. This program is being matched by the Humane Society for a total of $50,000 in assistance to community pet owners.
The vouchers will be available on Saturdays only from 11:00 to 3:00pm, and recipients must be residents of Raleigh County in order to receive a HSRC voucher. Proof of income must also be presented, and vouchers must be filled out in house.
The program will be entirely free for individuals who are currently receiving one of the following:
– Social Security Disability
– Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits (SNAP)
– Medicaid, Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
– WV Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP)
– Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
– Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC)
– Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP)
– Low Income Veterans Assistance under 38 U.S.C. 2044
Those who do not receive benefits from one of the above qualifying programs may still receive a voucher for a minimum donation of $25.
