HUNTINGTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Huntington man involved in a Monday afternoon shooting has been arrested and now faces 13 felony charges as a result of the incident.
According to reports from the Huntington Police Department, on Monday, August 29, 2022, Huntington PD officers were dispatched to a Guayandotte residence at 12:37pm for a possible armed robbery and shooting.
When officers made their way to the residence on the 700 block of Rear Buffington Street, it was discovered that the suspect had indeed entered the residence, and had shot a 46 year old Huntington man in the leg and hit a 30 year old Nevada man in the face with the gun before fleeing on foot.
The scene saw response from Cabell County EMS who provided treatment to both victims involved. After being transported to a local hospital, the gunshot victim’s injury has been reported to be non life-threatening.
Witnesses flagged down additional officers as they arrived in Guyandotte and revealed that the suspect was headed east between residences on the 600 block of Buffington Street.
It was at this point the officers heard a gunshot, which they would later find out had been fired by the suspect at multiple witnesses who were attempting to follow him. No one is reported to have been struck by the bullet.
The suspect, Logan C. Burns, 30 of Huntington, was located on the 600 block of South High Street, where he was arrested and taken into custody.
Patrol officers and detectives with the Huntington Police Department continued to investigate, finding that Burns had entered two other homes in the 600 block of Richmond Street.
Additionally, it was discovered that Burns had committed other felonies after fleeing the 700 block of Rear Buffington Street residence.
Burns was found to have struck a 55 year old man in the head with a gun and threatened to shoot others present in one Richmond Street residence. Immediately afterward, Burns entered a next-door residence and used the gun to threaten a 45 year old man.
It was after Burns fled this residence that he began to attract the attention of the multiple witnesses who began to follow him and at whom he was found to have fired his weapon.
Logan C. Burns faces 13 felony charges including four counts of malicious wounding, six counts of wanton endangerment, and three counts of burglary.
