SUMMERSVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Three people were found dead inside a Summersville home Thursday evening in what authorities describe as an isolated incident, according to the Summersville Police Department.
Nicholas County 911 received a call at approximately 5:05 p.m. on February 19, 2026, reporting that three individuals with severe head trauma had been located at a residence on Ashley Lane.
Responding officers from the Summersville Police Department, along with the West Virginia State Police and the Nicholas County Sheriff’s Office, arrived at the scene and found all three individuals unconscious and unresponsive.
They were pronounced dead at the scene.
The deceased were identified as Nancy Lindwedel, Dawn Morrow, and Douglas Morrow, all of whom resided at the home.
Preliminary investigation indicates the incident involved Douglas Morrow fatally shooting Dawn Morrow, identified as his wife, and Nancy Lindwedel, identified as his mother-in-law, before turning the weapon on himself.
The West Virginia State Police Crime Scene Team was called to process the scene, and all three bodies have been transported to the West Virginia State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsies. Authorities said next of kin have been notified.
Officials stated the case remains an open and ongoing investigation.
