Janice G. “Jan” Aston, 83, of St. Albans WV passed away Wednesday September 6, 2023, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, WV due to complications following surgery.
Born October 15, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Emil and Ruth Sullivan and granddaughter of Mamie T. McCoy.
Jan was a graduate of South Charleston High School and the University of Charleston School of Nursing. Jan was a retired Registered Nurse and had worked at CAMC General Division.
In addition to her parents and grandmother she was preceded in death by her son, Mark “JR” Aston and sister Linda Kennedy.
Jan is survived by her son David Aston of St. Albans and daughter Vicki Aston of Virginia, grandchildren Felicia Frye, Courtney Aston and Jonathan Aston all of St. Albans, Joshua Davis of Virginia, three great-grandchildren, sister Fyrn Frame of Ripley, daughter-in-law Gena Aston of St. Albans, along with her best friend of 60 plus years Betty Burns of St. Albans, and her four-legged friend, Gunner.
In keeping with her wishes a family beach trip has been planned in which her ashes will be scattered into the ocean.
There will be a Celebration of Life service held at a later date.
