Jerry Ray Morris, 81, of Falls Mills, VA passed away on Friday, September 9, 2023, at his residence.
Born January 7, 1942, in Elkhorn, WV, he was the son of Louise Morris of Rocky Gap, VA, and the late Howard Morris. Jerry worked as a coal miner for more than 40 years.
He was a member of the Voice of Praise Pentecostal Church in Bluewell.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Priscilla Durham, and an infant daughter; one son, Jerry Lee Morris; and two brothers, Russell Morris, and Frank Morris.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Dolly Morris of Falls Mills, VA; two daughters, Donna Woods and husband Leslie of Princeton and Karissa Smith and husband Tyler of Falls Mills, VA; three step-children, Tammy Nunley, Jeanie Gibson, and David Delida; two brothers, Luther Morris and wife Carolyn of Bluewell and Randall Morris of Bluewell; and one sister, Ethel Thorn and husband Robert of Pipestem.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor N.R. Taylor officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until the service hour on Thursday. In keeping with Jerry’s wishes he will be cremated following the service.
