Johnny “Cicero” Wayne Hart, 66, of Lashmeet, died Friday, November 17, 2023, at his residence.
Born February 21, 1957, in Chicago, IL, he was the son of the late Betty Elizabeth White Humphrey and John David Hart.
In Chicago, Johnny worked as a roofer and bartender. In 1996, he moved back to Mercer County and worked as a machinist at Quality Electric.
Johnny loved spending time with his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy.
He was very proud of his newfound salvation in his Lord and didn’t hesitate to tell others about his Savior.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerald David Hart and wife Pam, and Richard Anthony Hart; and brother-in-law, Kenny Ray Slone.
He is survived by two daughters, Stephanie Hart (Chris) of Chicago, IL, and Tina Akers (Nathan) of Lashmeet; six grandchildren, Peyton, Madison, Karson, Tionna, Serenity, and Mayley; one sister, Kathy Slone and companion Doc Vaughan of Lashmeet; one brother, Ronald Hart of Lashmeet; nieces and nephews, Garry Stutts (Sabrina), Betty Powell (Jeff), Jessica Hensley (Scooter), Sabrina Gray (Josh), Paul Slone (Jennifer), Kathleen Sommers (Steve), David Hart, R.J. Hart, Joey Hart, Josh Pendleton, and Brandon Browning; lifelong friends, Tina and Kenny Blankenship; and special friend, Jimmy Dale Wright.
In honoring Johnny’s wishes he will be cremated. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 26, 2023, at Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Steve Mack officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the service hour Sunday. Interment of Johnny’s cremains will be 12:00 p.m. Monday, November 27, 2023, at McComas-Crotty Family Cemetery in Pinoak. Those attending the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery on Monday.
