Jonathan “Jon” Harvey Forren, 38, of Mount Hope, WV passed away Monday, July 19, 2021, following a sudden illness. Born February 7, 1983, in Beckley he is the son of Samuel H. Forren of Oak Hill and the late Janet Marie Forren.
Jonathan was a 2001 graduate of Oak Hill High School where he was active with The Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC — and later went on to serve in the United States Army Reserves full time from February 2001 to March 2015. His favorite deployment was serving in Germany, and he also served one tour in Iraq. He and his family are very proud of his service.
Jonathan was a Christian. He had a love for God, fishing, and hunting. He prided himself as a ‘Big Cat Daddy’ with his 8 indoor and 2 outdoor cats he loved so very much.
Jonathan is survived by his loving wife of over 14 years Shirley and Daddy’s girl, Johannah Harmony, who is his princess and biggest pride of his life, and stepson, Darrell Lewis both at home. Other survivors include two brothers Robbie Forren of Oak Hill and Ted Forren and wife Lindsey of Glenville WV and niece Clara Forren. Several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends also survive.
Jonathan will be cremated. A small service may be held at a later date.
