Joseph Vance, 82, of Lenore, WV, went home to be with the Lord on, Monday, August 9, 2021 at Cabell Huntington Hospital.
He was born December 25, 1938, the son of the late Walter L. Vance and Georgia May Vance.
He was retired from the Dept. of Natural Resources at Laurel Lake in 2000.
He is preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers, Kenneth, Clayton, Billy Ray, and Paul Vance; 3 sisters, Pearl Newsome, Jacqueline Sturgill, and Karen K. Jones; 1 grandchild and 1 great-grandchild.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Wanda (Dillon) Vance; 7 children, Timothy (Cynda) Vance, Carol (Wayne) Richmond, James (Pearly) Vance, Nora (Kevin) Napier, Larry (Pauletta) Vance, Suzy (Raymond) Spaulding, and Sharon Vance; He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, Joanna, Britiany, Aaron, Adam, Nicole, Danielle, Ashley, Tia, Samantha, Brandon, Courtney, Megan, Matthew, Courtney, Jacob, and Dawson; 25 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ellis (Billie) Vance and Gary (Alberta) Vance; 4 sisters, Betty Jean (Al) Mooneyham, Margie Dillon, Phyllis (Don) Jarvis, and Bonnie (James Ed) Baisden. He leaves behind a large loving family and many friends.
Joe was a long standing member of Old Regular Baptist Church of Samaria in Dingess, WV for 47 years where his funeral service will be held on Friday, August 13, 2021 at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Hannah Cemetery on Marrowbone Creek with Elder Albert Cable, Elder Leonard Napier, Elder Arthur May, and Elder Sam Frye officiating.
Visitation will be on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at 6:00 pm at Old Regular Baptist Church of Samaria.
Pallbearers will be sons and grandson.
