DUPONT CITY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man has been arrested following reports of vehicle break-ins on Monday in Kanawha County.
The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office reports that, on Monday, January 23, 2023, at approximately 2:47am, deputies received reports of in-progress breaking and entering to motor vehicles and were dispatched to the 1600 block of W. Dupont Avenue in Dupont City.
Upon their arrival to the area, witness reported to 911 dispatchers that the suspect had fled the scene on foot and was headed toward W. Central Avenue.
The investigating deputy in the case, Deputy T. D. Burks, was able to locate the suspect a block away from where the incident had occurred. The suspect – identified as Travis S. Farley, 31 years-old of Dupont City – was found to be in possession of burglary tools at the time.
Farley was arrested as a result of the investigation for one count of breaking and entering to a motor vehicle and one count of destruction of property.
Notably, Farley was also arrested for breaking and entering to a motor vehicle on May 14, 2018, and has also seen multiple arrests on drug related charges.
Farley was arraigned by a Kanawha County Court Magistrate and is currently being held on a $500,000 bond at South Central Regional Jail.
