BEAVER, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A kitchen supervisor at Southern Regional Jail is arrested and charged after bringing drugs into the facility.
According to State Police, on Sunday, March 12, 2023, they received inside information from an inmate that Heather Ward, 42, of Hinton, a kitchen supervisor at Southern Regional Jail, would be transporting and delivering narcotics to Southern Regional Jail that day.
When police approached Ward at the jail, they located a gallon-sized bag containing 269 grams of suspected Tobacco, 6 grams of suspected Methamphetamine, 4 grams of suspected Fentanyl, 12 Suboxone strips, and tobacco roll paper.
Ward was charged with three counts of transporting a controlled substance onto the grounds of a State Correctional Facility, Transporting Tobacco onto the Grounds of a State Correctional Facility, and possessing a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
There has been a problem at Southern Regional Jail with drugs lately, with multiple arrested.
Ward is being held in Central Regional Jail under a 70,000 dollar bond.
