BRADLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – It has been announced that a number of Raleigh County fire department locations will offer showers this weekend to those facing issues with water service.
As confirmed Friday afternoon via a series of announcements from the Beckley Water Company, showers will be made available at both the Bradley-Prosperity Volunteer Fire Department location and Lester Fire Department on Saturday, December 31, 2022, starting at 9:00 AM.
Showers will remains available through the day and will be closed at 9:00 PM. Those who take advantage of the offer are asked to bring their own soap, shampoo, and towels.
Fire departments throughout the area have also been frequent hosts of water distribution events, the likes of which have been held at Sophia, Ghent, Fairdale, and Trap Hill fire departments among others.
Estimations given Friday morning by Beckley Water Company indicate that customers should still expect to wait 48-72 hours for service to be restored.
Beckley Water Company did confirm through a statement that those whose water service returns without signs of discoloration may immediately begin using the water.
Those who see a return in water service with discoloration, however, have been asked to adhere to a Boil Water Advisory before using or consuming the water until further notice.
