Lonnie Lee Cooper passed away peacefully at home in Athens OH, after a courageous battle with cancer, on Saturday, October 2, 2021. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Rosealee (Slavick) Cooper, a grandson, Andrew Joseph Cooper, his parents, Harry Oliver Cooper and Ella Avra (Shrewsbury) Cooper, and six Brothers and Sisters.
He is survived by his children, Charles H. Cooper, Russell W. Cooper, Linda M. (Cooper) Brewer, Edward E. Cooper and Kenneth R. Cooper, 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and six brothers and sisters.
Lonnie proudly served his country for over 23 years in the U.S. Air Force. Upon Military Retirement, he became self-employed for 38 years as a Cattle Rancher. While maintaining operations of his Cattle Ranch, he received a Degree in Agriculture from Hocking Technical College, and also took classes in Forestry and Automotive Maintenance.
Lonnie was a beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather (Papaw), Great Grandfather, Brother, Son and Friend. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed by those that were fortunate enough, to have known and felt his love and support.
Services will be held at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home Shady Spring Chapel, located at 729 Flat Top Rd, Shady Spring, WV., on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 3:00 PM. Friends may visit with family from 1:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Cooper Cemetery in Egeria, WV.
