WYOMING COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man has been charged with domestic assault following an incident involving a knife and a shotgun in Wyoming County on September 25, 2025.
According to a criminal complaint filed by the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to a report of a disturbance and made contact with a juvenile involved in the altercation.
The juvenile told deputies that he saw 19-year-old Ethan Ferrell walking down the street and called out to speak with him.
The two then got into a verbal argument, during which Ferrell allegedly pulled out a pocket knife, opened it, and told the juvenile, “You better go the other way.”
The complaint states that Ferrell then said he was going to retrieve his brother’s shotgun before walking to his brother’s residence.
Moments later, Ferrell allegedly came out onto the porch holding a shotgun and “racked” it. The juvenile reportedly told him to put the gun away, and Ferrell complied.
Deputies noted that the juvenile provided a short video of the confrontation, which showed Ferrell holding and then closing a knife. Ferrell was placed under arrest and searched, and deputies recovered three pocket knives from his pockets.
Officers then went to the residence where the shotgun was believed to be located. They found a black and brown Winchester 12-gauge pump shotgun on the porch with one live round in the chamber.
While being transported to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department for processing, Ferrell allegedly admitted that the black pocket knife collected from him was the same one he had displayed during the argument.
Ferrell has been charged with domestic assault and is currently at Southern Regional Jail on a $2,500 bond.
