LEWISBURG, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A Lewisburg man was arrested Thursday night after deputies say he held a gun to a woman’s head during a violent domestic incident that unfolded while a 911 dispatcher listened on an open line.
According to the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department, the call came in around December 11, 2025, from a home on Sunset Circle Road, where dispatchers heard a man yelling threats, including that he would “blow brains out.” Two women, a man, and possibly a small child could also be heard during the call.
Deputies Arrive to Chaotic Scene
Deputy A.B. Davis arrived along with Lt. Webber, Deputy Van Dyke, and Lewisburg Police. Unsure of the suspect’s location, officers used a loudspeaker to urge the occupants outside.
One woman emerged from the house and told Lt. Webber she had been assaulted and believed Nathaniel Clevenger still had the gun. She also relayed that another woman inside had reported that Nathaniel was on the back porch.
Armed Suspect Located on Back Porch
Lt. Webber and Deputy Davis moved into a protected position and spotted Nathaniel on the porch. When ordered to show his hands, Clevenger admitted the gun was in his pocket. Deputy Van Dyke and Ronceverte Police Officer B.S. McMillion moved in and handcuffed him.
Victim Says Gun Was Held to Her Head
On body camera footage, a victim told officers she had been asleep when Clevenger began hitting her. She screamed for help and attempted to flee to her bedroom before Clevenger grabbed a handgun.
She stated Clevenger told her he was going to kill her and pressed the gun against her head. She also told officers she had a baby in her arms when the weapon was pointed at her.
She said she hung up the 911 call only because the gun was being held to her head.
Gun Recovered; Suspect Transported to Jail
Deputies recovered a Glock 19 (serial number CBPF196) from Clevenger’s pocket. After being read his Miranda rights, he was transported to the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office for processing and then to Southern Regional Jail.
The weapon was logged into evidence following the arrest.
No additional injuries were reported, and the case remains under investigation.
