EAST WHEELING, WV (LOOTPRESS) – An Ohio man faces charges following his involvement in an incident Monday in which another man was stabbed inside the East Wheeling Salvation Army location.
The Wheeling Police Department reports that, on Monday, August 14, 2023, at roughly 9:20am, officers with the WPD responded to the Salvation Army located on 16th Street for reports of two men engaged in an altercation inside.
Upon the arrival of officers at the scene of the incident, one man was discovered to have sustained stab wounds during the conflict. This individual initially received treatment by personnel with the Wheeling Fire Department before being transported to WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital to receive further treatment.
A second man discovered at the scene was detained after it was determined that he had also been involved in the incident. The man – identified as Matthew Aeiker, 21 years old of Pomeroy, Ohio – was arrested and transported to the Northern Regional Jail to await a court arraignment.
