FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Fayette County dispute escalated into multiple arrests after a man allegedly shot and killed two dogs and later pepper-sprayed their owner during a heated confrontation.
According to deputies, the incident occurred around 11:12 a.m. on April 4, 2026, at a residence on Bibb Cemetery Road near Fayetteville.
Authorities say Bruce Fedukovich reported that two pit bulls belonging to his neighbor, John Norman, had entered his property and were causing a disturbance involving his chickens. Fedukovich told deputies he retrieved a firearm and shot both dogs, killing them.
However, investigators determined that at least one of the dogs was not actively posing a threat at the time it was shot. As a result, Fedukovich is facing two felony counts related to the malicious killing of animals.
The situation escalated further when Norman arrived at the property after hearing gunfire. Deputies say Fedukovich then deployed an entire can of pepper spray directly into Norman’s face, claiming he feared for his safety during the confrontation.
Witnesses reported that Norman continued to act aggressively, allegedly making threats and attempting to provoke a physical altercation. Despite repeated commands from law enforcement to leave the area, Norman remained in the roadway yelling at Fedukovich.
Officers eventually detained Norman, who continued to behave in a combative manner. He was arrested and transported to a hospital for medical clearance before being taken to Southern Regional Jail.
Norman is charged with disorderly conduct and stalking/harassment.
Emergency crews responded to the scene to evaluate Norman due to the pepper spray exposure, but he declined treatment.
The incident remains under investigation.
