WAR, WV (LOOTPRESS)– A woman was arrested on May 14th in McDowell County after they found methamphetamine and marijuana in her car.
Candace Beavers is the daughter of the City of War’s Mayor Robert Beavers who was arrested for a DUI where police found marijuana. Mayor Beavers was also reelected by the City of War for another term.
According to documents, troopers were on the lookout for a stolen black Jeep Compass. After officers located and pulled the vehicle over, Beavers admitted to the trooper that there was marijuana on the passenger side.
The passenger that was in the car also admitted to troopers that him and Beavers stuffed methamphetamine inside their pants. A box was located that had a bag with a substance consistent with meth and Beavers also gave the trooper a large bag hidden in her crotch area with the same substance. Officers also located a large amount of US currency consistent with the distribution of drugs.
Beavers was transported to Welch where she also confessed that she had distributed meth.
She was charged with: aiding escape, unlawful possession, possession with intent to deliver, receiving/transferring stolen property, and bringing stolen property across state lines.
