Melissa Velma Wynn, 52, of Princeton died unexpectedly Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Charleston Area Medical Center. Born March 18, 1969 in Martinsville, VA, she was the daughter of the late Roger Thorn & Linda White Thorn. She was educated in Mercer County and retired from Princeton Community Hospital with 25 years of service, serving as a Unit Secretary in the Emergency Room. Beside her family, who she dearly loved, especially her grandkids, she loved Mickey Mouse. One of the greatest highlights in her life was going to Disney and having her picture taken with Mickey. She loved cruising, family get togethers and food. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her previous mother-in-law Helen Shrewsbury, and present mother and father-in-law Ethel & Robert Wynn Sr. Those left to cherish her memory, her loving husband Robert E. Wynn Jr., son Justin Alan Shrewsbury & wife Caitlyn which is her best friend, Grandchildren, Jayde & Brantley Shrewsbury, & Adonis Green. Stepchildren, Robert Wynn III, Christina Wynn, Michael Wynn & James Wynn. Sister, Stephanie Jones and husband Kenny along with a host of nieces, nephews & aunts. Sister-in-laws, Sarah Wynn & Kathy Blankenship. Services to celebrate the life of Melissa Wynn will be held 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 27, 2021 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastors Danny Gunnoe & Thomas Wayne Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Friends may visit with the family Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. until the service hour at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Nathan Sigmon, Jeremy & Kenny Gillespie, Robby & James Wynn and Curtis Gillespie. Due to the Governor’s mandate, masks and social distancing, will be observed.
