MILL CREEK, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man arrested on active warrants Saturday now faces additional charges for substances found on his person during the detainment.
According to reports from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, Cpl. S. D. Kyle and Sgt. B. W. Cogar observed a red Jeep Wrangler on Shaffers Run Road in Mill Creek.
Aware that the vehicle was registered to Matthew Shreve, who had an active warrant, the officers made a stop to identify the driver, who was revealed to in fact be Shreve.
While being placed under arrest for the active warrant, Shreve advised that he had a bag of meth on his person.
Cogar then removed a plastic baggie containing a crystal-like substance consistent with methamphetamine from the suspect’s right pocket.
The substance weighed in at approximately 3.24 grams.
The defendant was transported to Tygart Valley Regional Jail to await magistrate arraignment.
Shreve was charged on the active warrant, as well as for possession of a controlled substance.
