Mitt Romney announces he will not seek re-election

WASHINGTON (AP) — Republican Sen. Mitt Romney of Utah says he won’t run for a 2nd term, likely ending his long political career.

Utah Republican Sen. Mitt Romney announced via a video statement on Wednesday that he will not seek reelection in 2024.

His term ends in 2025.
