MONROE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Monroe County Health Department urges residents to remain on guard after a sharp increase in COVID-19 cases.
According to health officials, Monroe County currently has 30 active cases, whereas a week ago, on April 6, there were just 10 active cases.
County officials urge people to continue to practice social distancing, wear a mask, and get vaccinated when it’s their turn.
To date, Monore County has seen 866 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 17 deaths. Currently, there are zero in the hospital.
On the County Alert Map, Monroe County has an infection rate of over 16, which puts them in orange. A week ago, they were in the yellow. The percent positivity is 3.00, which is green. The DHHR uses the lower number to determine what color is assigned to a county.
