MULLENS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The City of Mullens held its municipal elections on Tuesday, June 14, 2022.
Unofficial results confirm that a single vote separated mayoral candidates Alan “Mater” Mills, who accrued 178 votes, and Terri Lea Phillips Smith who accrued 177 votes.
Four seats were available for city commissioner candidates, with the seats being claimed by Herbie Brooks who garnered 190 votes, P.J. Blankenship with 220, Todd Norris with 174, and John Morgan with 169 – just one vote more than Della Houck who earned 168, and just three more than Dave Cox who earned 166.
Other candidates in the commissioner race included Mallory L. Grogg-Green and Steve Mills, who earned 140 votes and 138 votes, respectively.
It should be noted that results are unofficial until the canvass is held on Tuesday, June 21 at 5:00pm.
