WEST VIRGINIA (LOOTPRESS) – On Friday, February 2nd, 2024, at approximately 5:30 pm Tpr. B. Q. Turner & Tpr. N. T. Warden was dispatched by the Roane County Telecommunication Center (RTC) to respond to Amma, West Virginia for a possible stolen vehicle.
The Troopers located the stolen vehicle, which was stuck in the mud on an ATV trail.
Once located, Troopers observed two people fleeing on foot from the vehicle. Troopers were able to apprehend Mrs. Kelly Lantz, 45 of Elkview West Virginia. Troopers were unable to locate the male subject who fled but identified him as Brian Thompson, 42 of Cross Lanes, West Virginia. Troopers were able to return approximately $100,000 in stolen property to Shafer Equipment LLC. Ms. Lantz was subsequently transported to Central Regional Jail to await arraignment.
On Saturday, February 3rd, 2024, at approximately 3:40 pm the same Troopers responded to the WVDOH garage in Amma for an alarm. Tpr. Turner contacted a male subject walking near the DOH garage. The male suspect fled on foot but was apprehended and identified as Brian Thompson. Further investigation revealed that Mr. Thompson had broken into the DOH garage. Mr. Thompson was also charged with the theft of the vehicle that had been previously reported as stolen from Shafer Equipment in Kanawha County. Mr. Thompson was transported to Central Regional Jail to await arraignment.
