CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Stacy Lynn Nowicki-Eldridge will be sworn in as a judge in the Twenty-Fifth Judicial Circuit (Boone and Lincoln Counties) in a ceremony at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 3, in the Boone County Courthouse Circuit Courtroom.
The event is open to the media and the public. The Boone County Commission requires masks for visitors in the courthouse.
The oath of office will be delivered by Supreme Court Justice John Hutchison.
Ms. Nowicki-Eldridge graduated in 1996 from West Virginia University and in 1999 from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. She has practiced law in West Virginia for 20 years, mostly as an Assistant Attorney General for the West Virginia Attorney General’s Office and General Counsel for the West Virginia Division of Corrections. She was Deputy General Counsel for the West Virginia Department of Homeland Security at the time of her appointment to the bench.
She has also served as a judicial clerk, an assistant prosecuting attorney in Hancock County, and an assistant public defender for the First Judicial Circuit in Wheeling.
Ms. Nowicki-Eldridge has coached little league soccer and has been a volunteer with the Girl Scouts of America.
She and her family live in Lincoln County.
