GLEN JEAN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Officials with the New River Gorge National Park & Preserve have announced that the Park Headquarters in Glen Jean will be closed tomorrow, Friday, December 23rd.
According to the NPS, the closure is due to the low forecasted temperatures and that the building needs to be winterized.
All areas of the New River Gorge National Park & Preserve will remain open and accessible with no formal closure at this time. Park officials say that this may change depending on how the weather plays out.
Caution is advised as winter weather can make for hazardous conditions on roads within the park.
Officials urge visitors to know all weather conditions before adventuring into the park and that they should be prepared to postpone plans should weather conditions change suddenly.
