NICHOLAS COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – School will begin for Nicholas County students on August 19, 2021.
Classes will be in session 5 days per week, Monday through Friday. At this time, students and staff will NOT be required to wear masks or socially distance. Masks will only be required if Governor Jim Justice, the West Virginia Department of Education, or the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources issues a mandate requiring them for public schools. However, students and staff will be permitted to wear masks if they are more comfortable doing so.
Nicholas County Schools will retain additional staff to sanitize high traffic areas during the school day.
“I will continue to monitor the situation closely and make any changes necessary to ensure the health and safety of our students and staff in the event of significant community spread,” says Superintendent Donna Burge-Tetrick
